Dakimakura fabric guide: which should you choose?

Fabric changes how a cover feels and how the artwork looks on its surface. Start with what matters most to you: a smooth stretch, a fluffy texture, a display cover, or a material focused on comfort or fine detail.

Compare the fabric options

Peachskin

Consider it for: a display cover with little stretch.
The trade-off: it feels firmer and less elastic than the 2WT options.

Velvet Plush

Consider it for: a fluffy, cosy surface.
The trade-off: the textured pile gives artwork a softer appearance than a smooth surface.

2 Way Tricot

Consider it for: a smooth, stretchy cover for regular use.
The trade-off: compare the premium options if you want a particular emphasis on softness or fine detail.

2WT Plus

Consider it for: a smooth premium option balancing feel and print detail.
The trade-off: check the price difference for your size and whether its feel matches your preference.

2WT Precision Max

Consider it for: artwork with fine lines and small details.
The trade-off: the source image still limits the final result; fabric cannot repair a blurry file.

2WT Comfort Max

Consider it for: a soft, stretchy surface when feel is your priority.
The trade-off: treat the fabric gently when using and washing the cover.

Which dakimakura fabric is right for you?

For a cover you will hold often, surface feel may matter more than a small difference in print detail. For display, focus on the artwork and how the material holds its shape. If you prefer a fluffy texture, a smooth premium material may not be your favourite even if it costs more.

Prices and available fabrics can vary by product and size. Use the exact option names above when comparing them on the product page. For dakimakura covers, 2WT Comfort Max and 2WT Precision Max use reinforced YKK zippers. Peachskin, Velvet Plush, 2 Way Tricot and 2WT Plus use invisible zippers.

Fabric is only one part of the result

A clear original image gives the print a better starting point. Stretch, lighting, the shape of the insert and the screen used to view the artwork can all affect how the finished cover looks. For a custom design, check the crop and source file before choosing an enhancement option.
